Cost for the first week

We made our first repairs, fluid checks, part replacements, and got the car registered and transferred this week.

The parts we purchased from Summit were:

The total for our fist Summit Racing order was $283.38

Plus about another $100 for fluids, car wax, rubbing compound..

It turned out that the car was on a PNO (Planned Non Operation), AND the registration wasn’t paid for the last year, so it cost $568 to get the paperwork done. Yikes. But, it’s all taken care of and there’s a new sticker on the license plate and we’re paid through next year.

Since it is officially legal, we took the car out to drive some friends home and got thumbs up from many people.

So, cost of ownership for the first week was:

  • New Parts: $283.38
  • Registration/transfer, etc: $568.70
  • Fluids and polishes: $100
  • Total: about $950

Expensive week, but that drive was pretty nice with the top down 😉

…at least until I got home and backed the car into the garage and the power steering pump started leaking pretty bad ;(
