This week, Connor and I flushed the power steering pump. As we put the car back in the garage after a short drive, the pump seemed to be leaking. It was obviously overheating, and boiling over through the pump mechanism itself. I fear that there may be something wrong with the lines as well, but this weekend we’ll put on a new pump and see how it goes.
We also changed the oil, and discovered a stripped oil drain plug. Ended up putting it back on, but there is a new one one the way, too.
Another thing we addressed was the strap used to hold the battery down. Bought new hold-down mechanism, but discovered the battery tray was rusted, so we’ll likely address that in the future (with this). For now, though – out of sight, out of mind 🙁
